Rigid Heddle Looms
Rigid Heddle Looms have served weavers well for centuries with their clever shedding device that also functions as a beater. Plain weaves can be woven by simply moving the heddle up and down. Finger manipulated weaves and pick-up provide an even wider range of patterns and weave structures. Two-heddle techniques can also be employed for more complicated weaves.
Both the cloth and warp beams have fine toothed nylon ratchets, providing precise tension control. Fabrics up to 5 yards long can be woven, depending on the thickness of the yarns used. The heddle blocks on the sides of the loom hold the rigid heddle in either the up or down position so that your hands are free to throw the shuttle.
Available in the weaving widths below, the Schacht Rigid Heddle Loom is finely crafted of hard maple and is rubbed with a Danish oil finish. It comes with your choice of a 8, 10, or 12 dent rigid heddle.

Rigid Heddle Loom Accessories
Trestle Stands
have adjustable supports which allow the loom to be used at a variety of angles from horizontal to nearly vertical. When the loom is in the horizontal position, it is at just the right height for use with a standard chair.

A-Frame Stand
Designed for use with our portable tapestry looms, our A-Frame Stand

on the table top or the floor while weaving. The adjustable side
arms let you vary the angle, and may be folded up for storage.
