Standard Floor Looms

The Schacht Standard jack floor loom comes in two styles: The Standard Low Castle and The Standard High Castle. Both are available in either maple or cherry and can be ordered in either 36" width or 46" width. Though both looms take up identical floor space, the lower profile of the Low Castle model appears visually smaller. A High Castle loom includes a storage tray and holes drilled in the top of the castle uprights for the swivel pin of an extension lamp, otherwise the looms function the same.
Included with all standard floor looms are a stainless steel reed (your choice of 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 dpi), flat steel heddles, an eleven inch boat shuttle with bobbin, a reed hook and three lease sticks. Inserted eye heddles or Texsolv heddles may be substituted at a small additional charge.

Four Now-Four Later Option
If you are unsure as to whether you want 4 or 8 shafts, the Four Now-Four Later model comes with four shafts initially, plus 10 treadles and 1,000 heddles which are standard items on the 8-shaft loom. The additional 4 shafts, jacks and lamms may be added at any time.

The Standard High Castle

Standard floor looms arrive to you fully assembled and ready to use. All you have to do is tie on the apron bars and put the heddles on the shafts.

A High Castle loom includes a storage tray and holes drilled in the top of the castle uprights for the swivel pin of an extension lamp.

The Standard Low Castle

In addition to the features described above, every Standard Floor Loom includes these special features: friction reducing aluminum shaft channels, a back beam which folds with or without a warp on the loom, removable back and breast beams, and an adjustable open-sided beater. The braking system employs a ratchet and a dog on the cloth beam and a friction brake on the warp beam. This combination gives you precise tension control at all times.

Extra Treadles

Standard floor looms come with two more treadles than shafts. However, extra treadles may be added at any time. 36" looms can accommodate up to 10 treadles and 46" looms can accommodate up to 12 treadles.

Double Back Beam Need Serial #
Facilitates different warp tensions needed for such weaves as warp pile, supplementary warp, or Bedford cord. Installation is straight-forward; holes have been predrilled in the loom for easy assembly.

Sectional Beam -Need Serial #
The sectional warp beam have 2" sections and a half yard circumference. They are quickly installed on the existing beam of your Schacht loom.

Lamp Holder

Loom Bench
